Process Description

Getting to a good design begins with gathering data and discerning the desires and intentions of stakeholders. One critical component of this process is the stakeholder workshop. Archimedia PLLC has developed numerous workshop excercises designed to engage people of all backgrounds and intrests in useful discussions about the key metrics of any project. The assent of all stakeholders to the forward direction of the project is essential.

The result of this process is a report which stands as a living document guiding the way forward for the institution and responding as needed to new inputs. This document can form a portion of a project management platform as the phases of the planned development are exectuted, informing such critical items as the selection of architecture, engineering and consulting team members, selection of materials and assemblies, development of program schedules and more.

And importantly, as board members, council members, and leadership personnel change over time, a frame of reference for the process and intentions which lead up to the present state of development is essential. If changes are made by new personnel with different perspective, they should return to the stakeholders and recalibrate before proceeding with signifigant changes to the project or projects.

Shown here are images of stakeholder workshops on projects including: A pubic library, a historic downtown post office, a community center, a city wide facility analysis, and a traditional town center development.

About You. About Process.

You are a municipal leader, a police chief, a fire chief, a mayor, an institutional executive, a school board member, a city staffer, a city manager, a public works director, a pastor, a facility committee member, a school superintendent or a mover in your community. Perhaps you are a developer with an interest in adding value by creating Places for People. You know the value of personal investment in the public realm. You are interested in improving the quality of your built environment. You want to participate in the betterment of your city, district and neighborhood. You contribute. And you could use some help.

Perhaps you are a Construction Management firm building public facilities.

Our Consensus-Building process involves inclusion and engagement of all stakeholders in the development of project mission and priorities. The stakeholders work toward consensus with our facilitation. Build consensus with the stakeholders, then and only then build the project. This process must happen in the pre-design phase. These are not architectural services. These are the services which will inform the architecture and ultimately the construction process going forward.

Our Value Consulting process includes reviews of construction documents prepared by your design professionals for errors and omissions to include redlines and summary reports, expert witness services, property condition assessments, sub-consulting, Building Information Modeling, Clash Detection, Visualization, and specification research.
